I knew a girl who was envied
By everyone she knew
She did well and could succeed
And she’d really surprise you,
By the way she was good in all things
And never failed in what life brings.
I thought that she was happy
By the success at every step.
But who knew that she was standing
At the danger of killing herself?
By the way she was good in all things
And never failed in what life brings.
And had no peace, she had no goal,
She had nothing in life
With the exception of what’s been told.
She felt like a big, empty success.
Even though she was good in all things
And never failed in what life brings.
She didn’t know what it was that she wanted.
She wanted something more precious that gold.
She wanted something to change her life
And stop it from being a bore.
This was even though she was good in all things
And never failed in what life brings.
She happened, one day, to walk
On the deserted Church road in town.
She couldn’t help but hear the voice,
‘Turn to Jesus – He will never let you down’
She at once know that she had been good in all things vain
And there had been no gain in all the taken pain.
So she turned around that very moment,
To gain the peace eternal.
To receive from His precious hand,
The riches to treasure and blessings supernal.
….. I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ. Phil 3:8(NIV)
